The adventure resumes with our return to Marigot Bay in St. Lucia where Hejira has been moored over Christmas. The marina staff have been excellent, even mailing the necessary paperwork to clear in the quantity of equipment sourced for the improvement of Hejira for the challenges ahead. More of this and photos to follow in due course.
The only disappointment was that the freezer had suffered a power cut and not re-set itself so that we have lost some stores but, āhey hoā, these things happen. Paula and I are joined by my brother Neville and his wife Lynn and our first day today has been spent in morning jobs (grab bars (half done) and Yellow Brick) with an afternoon in the ethnic āRoots Barā.
This is on the sand spit at the entrance to the bay and we enjoyed a few rum punches followed by a (probably ill advised) swim after the āgirlsā had had some pampering from a delightful local lady.
Connected to ‘shore power’, Hejira is very comfortable with the air conditioning doing its job admirably well.
The formula of crew blog input was so successful on the Atlantic crossing, I hope to continue it hereafter so, here goes with a first effort.

Well Nick might regret asking me to write as you all know I cannot be brief! Yes, indeed, we are chilling!!!! This spot is perfect, sun, rum AND a diamond shop beside us!!!!! What can I say! People are so friendly and helpfulā¦ the little ārum shackā is runĀ by a lovely British lady . Paula had some beads put in her hair and we all had a hand massage! Yes the rum was good! We all have a funny smile on our faces but we are all happy! The itinerary is fluid which is great! Who knows where we will be tomorrow!!! Who cares????? The rum is goodā¦.love to you allā¦
Neville wants to add his bitā¦.but he has had too much rumā¦maybe tomorrow!!

āI donāt know where Iām going from here, but I promise it wonāt be boringā.
David Bowie.
Quite poignant I think for today!
Today has been extremely chilled and without much excitement other than finding a rum shack, having a swim, trip to the supermarket, taking in the diamond shop and lastly having beads in my hair (not sure how she managed it) but looking goodā¦ā¦ I think so anyway!
There has been a copious amount of rum drunk by Nick and Neville and I believe we are off to happy Hour!! Needless to say Lynn and I have drunk water and may entertain a pina colada later.
Happy days. Xx
Seems Neville may become Barry and make no blog contributionsā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
Nick
